Job Description
Our client is a foreign-invested manufacturing company, now looking for a Welding Inspector (Mechanical, $2.700, ID 19800):
- Inspect joint preparation and fit-up before welding.
- Verify welder qualifications and ensure only certified personnel perform welding.
- Check welding consumables for compliance, expiry, and proper storage.
- Monitor welding parameters (current, voltage, travel speed, preheat/interpass temperature) and report deviations.
- Conduct visual inspections of completed welds against WPS, drawings, and acceptance criteria before NDT.
- Witness and coordinate NDT activities (PT, MT, UT, RT), ensuring compliance with ITP and standards.
- Approve inspection stages on ITPs, weld maps, and quality check sheets, maintaining traceability.
- Ensure material traceability from base material to final weld, cross-checking certificates and weld IDs.
- Document inspection results in reports, checklists, and weld logs.
- Raise NCRs, support root cause analysis, and verify corrective actions.
- Confirm calibration status of welding and measuring equipment.
- Perform dimensional checks post-welding.
- Enforce housekeeping and safety practices during welding operations.
- Support client or third-party inspections with documentation and compliance evidence.
- Maintain updated inspection records, weld maps, and quality files for handover.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and training sessions related to welding quality.
Requirement
- Male; 30–45 years old
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Quality
- Certification: AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1 (mandatory requirement)
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in welding inspection, quality control, or fabrication supervision
- Knowledge: Welding codes and standards; NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT)
- Skills: Ability to interpret WPS/PQRs, drawings, and ITPs
- Language: Intermediate English proficiency (written and spoken)
