Job Description

General Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Finance and Accounting department to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial, management, internal, and other reports as required by the Board of Directors.

  • Define and implement internal control policies and procedures to maximize the hotel's profitability in collaboration with the General Manager.

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure the hotel possesses all necessary licenses and permits for operation.

  • Verify that the hotel maintains adequate insurance policies as stipulated in the Management Agreement.

  • Review all proposed contracts (purchase, sale, HR) for pricing and terms, ensuring the hotel's interests are protected.

  • Assist other departments in defining, implementing, and monitoring improved internal control tools.

  • Maintain close communication with third parties such as the owning company, auditors, local authorities, and tax department.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting functions to ensure smooth operations, including:

    • Timely preparation and release of accurate monthly financial statements and related reports.

    • Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, promptly identifying and correcting discrepancies.

    • Supervision of account receivables, credit, and cashiering functions to ensure proper collection of overdue amounts.

    • Safeguarding all hotel cash and bank assets, ensuring daily cash and cheque collections are verified and banked intact.

    • Monitoring cost control functions, ensuring accurate recording and safeguarding of all hotel stocks with justified and corrected variances.

    • Overseeing purchasing functions, ensuring all procurement of goods and services adhere to hotel policies and procedures.

    • Supervising payroll and administrative functions, ensuring accurate payroll calculations and compliance with tax legislation.

    • Managing legal and tax matters related to the hotel in liaison with consultants and local authorities.

    • Ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's computer systems and software.

    • Establishing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for managing and using assets, including FF&E and OS&E.

Human Resources Responsibilities:

  • Develop the organizational structure of the Finance and Accounting department based on the hotel's current situation.

  • Ensure necessary in-house or external training for all department employees to enable them to temporarily fill other positions during regular employee absences.

  • Motivate all department employees and encourage consistent job performance.

Commercial Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional appearance and excellent image of the hotel in both telephone and in-person interactions.

  • Control expenses related to hotel operations.

Replacement and Temporary Mission:

  • Be ready and responsible when assigned to perform any other duties as designated by higher management.

Requirement

  • Gender: Male / Female

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a Finance Director or similar position

  • Language Requirements: Basic English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking)

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

    • Solid understanding of accounting systems/software

    • Strong leadership and management skills with a results-oriented approach

    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
