Established in 1902, The Dai-ichi Mutual Life Insurance Company (“Dai-ichi Life”) is the second largest life insurance company in Japan and one of the top players in the global life insurance industry with total assets of 276 billion US dollar, premium income of 29 billion US dollar) and about 40 thousand sales agents and 10 thousand staff members (in the fiscal year ended 31 March 2006). With over 100 years of experience in the Life Insurance business, Dai-ichi Life have wide-ranging product expertise, quality financial management and customer oriented operational capabilities, which will be leveraged to further develop the business and to provide better services to its customers.
Dai-ichi Life has had a representative office in since October 2005 in Vietnam, and has obtained valuable experiences with respect to the Vietnamese Life Insurance market. With the official approval of the acquisition of Bao Minh – CMG by MOF on the 18th January 2007, the Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company of Vietnam, ltd. (“Dai-ichi Life Vietnam”) is established. Through this establishment, Dai-ichi Life has now made an everlasting commitment to the Vietnamese life insurance market and wishes to contribute significantly to the further development of the market.
