Merchandising Director

Job description

Our client is a leading Garment Trading and Manufacturing Company . They are now looking for high caliber candidate to join:

Lead a team of merchandisers to oversee the entire merchandising process from product development through to production and delivery.
Make the production plan and make sure the whole Merchandising Team is working with the same tools & methods
Work closely with QC Dept & Technical Team in factory to ensure best final product
General overview of the quotation and production merchandisers work performance
Ensure that pre-order is customized and optimized
Set and coordinate team goals in accordance with company goals
Work closely with Top Management in strategic plans formulation & implementation as well as providing professional advice on all aspects of merchandising, business planning and problem solving. Lead the subordinates to drive business in achieving Company’s objectives and target.
Responsible for leading a team of merchandising staffs (over 50 sub-ordinates) in providing all-rounded sourcing and merchandising duties for the global clients.
Jobs responsibilities involving in liaising with the overseas buyers for business development, overseeing the smooth-running the whole merchandise process including product development, negotiation and execution of management functions
Understand and execute customers’ performance specifications regarding wet and dry processing in order to match hand standards, performance specifications, and color standards before and after wash
Work with sample technicians and garment techs to develop ‘first time right’ samples and on time delivery
Organize and oversee sourcing team dedicated to the sourcing and development of trims and accessories, both from reputable local sources and nominated international suppliers
Supervise and control that best price, quality and lead-times are given to customers
Make sure that customer and concepts are clear to every merchandiser and technician

Job requirement

General Requirements:	Tertiary graduate in fashion and clothing or related disciplines preferred At least 10 years experience in garment industry, of which 6 years at managerial level with cut & sewn knit Buying Office / Trading background Familiar with USA & Europe market Solid management experience in monitoring the merchandising flow from product development stage to final production Strong technical know how and excellent problem solving skills & decision-making. Be dynamic, resourceful and aggressive. Excellent leadership and organization skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Keep abreast of the up-to-date fashion and quality requirements of the markets; plans, approves and supervises the coordination and presentation of sample and quotations, negotiates with customers Excellent leadership & interpersonal skills, good command of spoken and written English
